ADA Releases 3 New Podcasts

Posted by dentalinsider on August 21, 2008

Last week the American Dental Association released 3 new podcasts, adding to the 9 previous episodes released in 2006 and 2007. I was surprised that the ADA took more than a year to release these episodes. In 2006, it looked like the ADA embraced the podcast technology and released 6 episodes. They followed up in 2007 with only 3 episodes and now, 8 months into 2008, they release 3 more. I would think that the ADA has enough material and resources, to release a monthly podcast, but since I know how much work they can be to produce, I will cut them some slack…for now.

  1. The lesson here is…CareCredit likes to sponsor podcasts. Get them to fund you next time!

It’s not surprising that the ADA has fallen behind on this. Now that Dr. Feldman is running the show over there, the ADA’s past priorities have been reshuffled a bit.

  3. I am sure that the ADA has more resources than you do to produce a podcast. I am also sure that yours will always be more entertaining, but you need to figure out a way to get us CE credits for listing to your podcasts!

My guess is that there is resistance to change within that organization as there is with dentists in general. Have you ever dealt with a dental school??!!
