Johnson & Johnson to Consolidate Distributors

Posted by dentalinsider on April 27, 2007

In a move that has become commonplace in the dental industry, Johnson & Johnson are revising their direct ship policy for Specialty/Alternative channels. Effective May 25, 2007, distributors with less than $75,000 in 2006 sales, will no longer be able to purchase products directly from Pfizer Consumer Healthcare or any of the Johnson & Johnson operating companies.

Products that you may be familiar with are: Reach Floss, Reach Toothbrushes, Act Fluoride, Ethicon Suture, Microtouch gloves, Cidex+, Listerine, Sugicel and many more.

Johnson & Johnson Operating Companies

Johnson & Johnson Sales and Logistics
Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company
Johnson & Johnson/Merck Consumer Pharmaceuticals
McNeil Consumer Healthcare
McNeil Nutritionals
Neutrogena Corporation
Personal Products Division

Hopefully, Johnson & Johnson will distribute through NDC like Tyco/Kendall has done with their products. I think this was a good move that allows the dealers that couldn’t buy the yearly minimum ($100,000) to continue to provide their customers with the same high quality Kendall Products.
