Observation and Commentary On the Dental Industry

Dental Blogs

Posted by dentalinsider on June 20, 2006

I was reading the newest issue of Dental Products Report and came across an interesting article entitled “Probing Blogs and Pods” (pg 82) written by Dr. Larry Emmott. The article discusses dental blogs and podcasts and their impact on dentistry. I found this article to be very informative and very easy to understand for the technologically challenged. Dr. Emmott also had some links to a couple of dental blogs, one of which he writes, Emmott on Technology, he gives you his takes on technology within the dental office.

The other is edited by Dr. Tom Hedge and has a list of contributors from the A-List of dental educators. John Kanca, Karl Leinfelder, Larry Emmott and Ross Nash, just to name a few. The site has a listing of categories ranging from Apple computers to cosmetic dentistry to marketing to tooth whitening, etc. Be sure to check it out http://www.dentalblogs.com While surfing through the site I came across this entry posted by Tony Soileau and the title is “Feel Free to Ask! Dental Blogs is about sharing ideas without confrontation.” What a refreshing idea! I think that we have all been to that other site with all of those “Farranatics”!

Another site that I came across recently was a blog written by Gregory (Flap) Cole, B.S., D.D.S. called FullosseousFlap’s Dental Blog. FullosseousFlap’s Comments on the Dental World and More, mostly the “more”, but very fun to read.

Lastly, Dental Cast is a podcast by Dr. David Dodell that covers a variety of topics.

Do yourself a favor and visit these sites and add them to your favorites or subscribe to their RSS feeds and have their content delivered to you when it becames available. If you would like to know more about the Blogging World known as the “Blogosphere”, pick up a copy of Hugh Hewitt’s book “Blog : Understanding the Information Reformation That’s Changing Your World”. He is an authority on the subject.
