For what it’s worth I’ve been told that the new penta have a magnetic bar coding that is read by the new Penta 3 machines. This coding is not going to be on the penta impression material shipped grey market, hence won’t work in new machines. Have not been able to confirm but that is the rumble.

It will work in the Pentamix 3 machines, but it will run at the Pentamix 1 (extremely slow) speed if the bar code is not found.
